We have chosen a different model, not as a luxury positioning but as a clinical philosophy. A dentist who hurries misses things. Not always dramatic things — but the small findings that, caught early, remain small, and missed, become something that requires real intervention.
Our appointments are scheduled with margin. Not extravagantly — this is still a functioning practice — but enough margin that if you need to ask something, we can stop and actually answer. Enough margin that a clinical examination is thorough rather than cursory. Enough margin that if a patient is anxious, we can acknowledge that and move at a pace that works for them.
An appointment that runs slightly long is not a failure of efficiency. It is a sign that something real is happening between a clinician and a patient. We would rather that than the alternative.
